Silver & Gold Good-luck Jewelry from Israel
Good-luck jewelry has been worn in the eastern Mediterranean for at least three thousand years. The basic logic is the same across cultures: certain symbols are believed to absorb, deflect, or counter the negative attention that can come from envy, ill-wishing, or simply bad timing. Among the most enduring of these symbols are the evil eye (a blue or green stone shaped to resemble an open eye), the Hamsa (the open right palm), and the red string (worn around the left wrist as a personal protection).
Our collection covers each of these traditions. Evil eye necklaces and pendants feature a stylized eye, often in blue or green glass or enamel, set into solid 14K gold or sterling silver and worn at the neck where it can "see" what approaches. Hamsa bracelets and pendants pair the open palm with a central eye at the centre of the hand, combining two protective symbols into one piece. Kabbalistic red string bracelets are simple but powerful: a thin red thread blessed at the Tomb of Rachel south of Jerusalem, tied around the left wrist with the appropriate prayer.
Combination pieces are increasingly popular. The Hamsa with evil eye pendant places the eye at the centre of the palm. The red string with Hamsa charm extends the protection of the bracelet with an additional symbolic anchor. Star of David pendants combined with evil eye accents pair Jewish identity with broader protective symbolism. Every piece in the collection is made to order in our Jerusalem workshop and ships worldwide with a certificate of authenticity. Engraving on the reverse can add a Hebrew name or a protective verse.
