Gold & Silver Ancient Coin Cufflinks from Jerusalem

Cufflinks are one of the few categories of men's jewelry that combine genuine formality with the opportunity for personal symbolism. A pair of ancient coin cufflinks does both: the formality of a precious-metal cufflink, paired with the personal weight of a coin struck in the Holy Land two thousand years ago.

The most popular Bar Mitzvah cufflinks in our workshop are ancient coin sets. A boy reaching the age of religious responsibility, called to the Torah for the first time, receives a pair of cufflinks featuring coins from the same period when the Second Temple still stood in Jerusalem. The wedding-day cufflink set serves a similar purpose for grooms, often engraved on the reverse with the Hebrew date of the wedding. Father-of-the-groom and grandfather sets extend the family connection through ancestral lines.

Construction is consistent across the collection. The coin is set in a bezel of solid 14K gold or sterling silver, the obverse remains visible (the reverse rests against the cuff when worn), and the toggle back is solid metal with a tested clasp mechanism. We do not use spring-loaded backs because they fail too quickly with daily use. Every pair ships from our Jerusalem workshop in a presentation box, with two coin certificates and an Israel Antiquities Authority export licence. Engraving on the reverse of the bezels can be added at checkout.
