Handcrafted Gold Ancient Coin Rings from Jerusalem

A ring made with an ancient coin sits in a distinctive category of jewelry. It is at once historically serious and personally portable, suitable for daily wear in many cases and dramatic enough for formal occasions. Our Ancient Coin Rings collection has been built around the formats that have proven most wearable over the decades, not the showpiece settings that rarely leave a jewelry box.

Two main constructions dominate the collection. The first is the cocktail-style ring, where the coin is raised on a sculpted gallery and framed by a bezel of solid 14K gold or sterling silver, often with accent diamonds or geometric metalwork around the edge. This style suits larger coins (the silver shekel, the Bar Kochba bronze) and reads as a true statement piece. The second is the signet-style ring, where the coin is set flush with a wider shank and the ring functions like a classical seal ring; this style suits smaller coins (the prutah, the widow's mite) and reads as more daily-wearable.

Provenance and protection are central to the design. Every coin is sourced through licensed Israeli antiquities dealers, approved for resale by the Israel Antiquities Authority, and accompanied by an export licence and workshop certificate identifying the period, ruler, and approximate date of striking. Settings are designed to display the coin without altering it; the obverse and reverse remain visible, and the bezel protects the edge. Rings are sized to order, photographed individually, and shipped worldwide from our Jerusalem workshop.
