Gold & Silver Hebrew Wedding Rings
A Jewish wedding is built on words. The seven blessings under the chuppah, the breaking of the glass, the ketubah, the public declaration "harei at mekudeshet li" ("behold, you are consecrated to me"); the entire ceremony is layered in verbal commitment. A Hebrew wedding ring carries one or more of those words with the couple wherever they go.
The single most popular Hebrew verse for wedding rings is "Ani Ledodi V'Dodi Li", "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine," from chapter 6 of the Song of Solomon. The first letters of the four Hebrew words spell out "Elul", the month leading up to the High Holidays and traditionally a time of intimacy between the Jewish people and God. The verse therefore carries a double meaning: the love between two people, and the love between humanity and the divine. Couples often engrave it on the inside of the band so it sits against the skin, with their names and wedding date on the outside.
Other popular verses include "Im Eshkachech Yerushalayim" ("If I forget thee, O Jerusalem"), engraved as a reminder of the Temple even in moments of greatest joy; "Hineni" ("Here I am") for a particularly direct vow; and "B'Ezrat Hashem" ("with God's help"), a more discreet inscription often placed on the inside. Some couples choose a single name (the partner's Hebrew name) or the Hebrew date of the wedding alone.
Our Hebrew wedding rings are crafted by hand in solid 14K gold, 18K gold, white gold, rose gold, and platinum. Designs range from clean modern bands with engraved interiors to fully inscribed outer bands with the verse running around the entire circumference. For couples who want more visible texture, we offer raised Hebrew lettering, two-tone gold designs, and rings set with diamonds between the letters. Comfort-fit interiors are standard so the ring sits well during decades of daily wear.
Because Hebrew engraving has to be sized to the band width and the letter count of the verse, every Hebrew wedding ring is made to order. We will send a digital proof of the engraving for your approval before production begins, ship worldwide from Jerusalem, and include a certificate of authenticity. Matching his-and-hers sets are available, and we are glad to work from a verse you provide if you prefer something outside the catalog.
