Gold & Silver Handmade Hamsa Jewelry

The Hamsa is one of those rare symbols that crosses cultures without losing its meaning. In Arabic, "khamsa" means five (the five fingers of the hand). In Jewish tradition, the same hand is associated with Miriam, the prophetess and sister of Moses, who protected her brother as an infant by hiding him in the reeds of the Nile. In both traditions, the Hamsa is worn for protection (particularly against the evil eye, the harm believed to come from envy or ill-wishing). It is among the most popular pieces of jewelry in modern Israel and has been adopted globally as a positive, protective amulet.

Our Hamsa jewelry collection takes the symbol seriously. The classic Hamsa pendant features five fingers fanned out from a central palm, often with a blue or green stone (turquoise, Roman glass, or Eilat stone) set at the center of the palm to represent the watching eye. Some of our Hamsa designs are smooth and modern; others are intricately filigreed in the Yemenite tradition, where the entire hand is woven from fine threads of gold or silver. Kabbalistic versions inscribe verses on the reverse, including Ana Bekoach, the Priestly Blessing, or a Psalm of protection.

Beyond the pendant, the collection covers every format. Hamsa rings range from delicate stacking bands to larger statement pieces with the hand as the central element. Hamsa bracelets include single-charm versions on fine chains, as well as woven cord bracelets with the Hamsa as the connector and red string accents. Hamsa earrings are most often produced as small studs or drop styles, sized for everyday wear. For men, we produce larger oxidized silver Hamsas in heavier weights, often paired with solid Israeli gold chains.

Materials include solid 14K and 18K gold (yellow, white, rose), hand-stamped sterling silver, and combinations with natural stones from Israel. Each Hamsa piece is made to order in our Jerusalem workshop and shipped worldwide. Engraving on the reverse adds a Hebrew name, date, or protective verse.
