The Tradition of Kiddush
A Kiddush cup is used traditionally for reciting the Kiddush – the blessing said over the wine in honor of the Jewish Sabbath and Holidays. Red or white wine or even grape juice is used and the blessing is recited before the evening and morning meal.
The two basic designs we offer are with a stem and base and without them. The Sephardic traditionally do not use with a stem and base, the Ashkenazic traditionally uses a goblet style with a stem and base. Here at Baltinester we have collected amazing selections for our site. We feature beautiful enamel and filigree work, an attractive hammered texture, modern angles, and even the Jerusalem skyline decoration.
All of this selection found at Baltinester Jewelry are made from 925 marked sterling silver. The inside is coated with 24k gold plate to guard against the harsh taste of the silver affecting the sweetness of the wine. You can participate in the Jewish tradition by purchasing one of our fantastic Kiddush cups made in the land of Israel.- Read Less
