The Shema Yisrael is the central prayer in the Jewish prayer book and is considered a traditional part of the morning and evening Jewish prayer services. The inscribed verse translates to “Hear, O Israel, Hashem is our God, Hashem is One”, proclaiming the Jewish faith to the world. The Hamsa is the palm-shaped motif that forms the outline of the pendant and is believed to provide defense against the evil eye.

The letters of the Shema Yisrael are diamond-cut and stand out beautifully against the Florentine matte background, enclosed in a Hamsa outline that is diamond-cut as well.
